Gradius Portable (PSP) Yes, its finally happened, I’ve started a PSP collection. The PSP is old enough for me to recognise it as retro so this is the first of many of its games you’ll see soon. And I’ve got LOTS of games on their way! I’ve owned a PSP before including a PSP Go ..
FINALLY it’s arrived! I’ve been waiting for this modification for months although this is no fault of James at ‘Gear for Games’. The original RGB mod board was faulty and, as it came all the way from Australia, it took some time to replace. But here it is…in all its glory and I can tell ..
Rare and little known shooter featuring a very novel ship…a vacuum cleaner! After the first two mediocre stages there’s a very enjoyable game here. Cute and full of character. If you’re a ‘cute-em-up’ fan you should definitely add this to your collection but be aware it is quite expensive. Also available on the Japanese PSN store
I mentioned in a previous post that I intended to buy hard case Famcicom games, namely Namcot and Taito titles for their lovely artwork. Well here is my first batch of games bought to replace the cart only versions I currently own. Wagan Land 1, 2 and 3 for Famicom come in lovely hard case ..
Another batch of Famicom games arrived today. However I’ve already decided i’m going to replace some of the Namco games with boxed versions. Metro-Cross: Great little side scrolling action game. Played by Chief Arino of Game Centre CX. Dragon Buster: Another early game played by Chief Arino of Game Centre CX. Kings Knight: Excellent vertical shooter ..
You may have read my earlier posts about Famicom collecting and how i’d decided not to collect complete/boxed games. This is for the simple reason that it would be too difficult and expensive to find 30 year old Famicom games with good condition boxes seeing as the majority of Famicom games came in the dreaded ..
My Famicom discovery continues. Here’s the latest batch of carts all cleaned and ready to go! Shame my Famicom is still awaiting an RGB mod. When it comes to this classic system it seems the more you get the more you uncover… so the list just keeps getting longer and longer! I’ve so many more games to ..
I recently picked up the Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works book and wanted to share a few photos with you. Packed full of artwork, original sketches, technical drawings, logos and interviews with the original Sega engineers and producers, Mega Drive Collected Works is quite literally a work of art. The project came about from a 2013 Kickstarter ..
Picked up a couple of games this week that I’ve had on my list for a while. I could have had a box full of more common games for the price I paid for Contra Hard Corps. I’ve read so much about this game, 16meg, 2 player, how it’s apparently better than the Super Famicom ..
If you’ve been following my blog posts for any length of time you’ll know that I am a massive fan of the PC Engine. The little beauty of a console plays host to so many great games that didn’t make it outside of Japan and the consoles themselves come in a variety of colours shapes and ..
I recently acquired another Mega Drive to add to my collection. Actually I bought a mint condition Mega-CD 1 and this came as part of the deal. The seller wouldn’t split them and as the condition of the Mega Drive console was so good, I thought I’d just sell off my old one on eBay. Not ..
Finally added Sylphia to my collection. Paid a small fortune for this title but with eBay prices going through the roof I thought now was a good time to pick it up. I’ve read much about Sylphia but, as yet, i’ve never actually played the game. Here’s hoping that it’s a good enough to justify ..
NOW PRINTING! Just thought i’d share a few photos of some Super Famicom posters that are now available. I was initially concerned that the small size of the original artwork would not replicate well at such large sizes but I was pleasantly surprised at how well these have come out. Take a look for yourself. ..
I was at university when I first started to discover the incredible library of software for the Sega Saturn that never made it to the West. It was during the early Dreamcast era that I rediscovered my love for Sega. I was a huge Mega Drive fan back in the day but the Saturn just ..
